7 Sunday Habits To Prepare You For The Week Ahead

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that feels that tight twist in my tummy when 4pm hits on a Sunday and I have no choice to look another long week dead in the eyes.

Whether we like it or not, Monday will come. The only thing we really have control over is what we can do to make Monday, and the rest of the week for that matter the best one yet.

So as the late Sunday afternoon rolls around, it’s time to prepare you for another awesome week!

  1. Write out your week ahead in a planner:

Our brains are truly remarkable gifts; however they can also get a little bit cluttered and dishevelled when we try to store absolutely EVERYTHING in them. That’s why investing in a good desk planner or diary is one of the best ways to spring clean your mind. Write down your schedule for the week ahead. I am so much more focused and centred when I can have all the things that I need to do and all the places that I need to be right in front of me.



  1. Clear some room for you and the people around you:

I love being productive and getting stuff done. But when my week gets a little bit overwhelming, it feels so good to look at my schedule and see a space allocated for that new book I’ve been dying to read or that girl’s night that I’ve been craving. The time you set aside for those little things may take time away from being that kick-ass #girlboss but trust me, your soul needs those little things.

  1. Tidy your space:

There’s nothing that grates my cheese more than walking into a messy kitchen or a bedroom with clothes on the floor and glasses everywhere. These little annoyances seem to build up progressively through the week and it is so satisfying beginning Monday with a clean slate, or countertop at least. You don’t need to do a full out Martha Stewart overhaul, but simply picking up those clothes or collecting the pile of dishes off your bedside table can help you hit that reset button.

  1. Pack your “school bag”:

I have a million things to pack for my ballet lessons that I teach the next day, so packing my work bag usually take about 10-15 minutes or so. I find that setting time aside the day before helps me to make sure that I don’t forget anything and that I’m nice and organized, instead of being faced with the next morning rush of cramming everything that looks remotely correct into a half-zipped bag. Whether it’s your gym bag or your cute cross-over shoulder bag, make sure it’s packed for the next day.

  1. Pamper yourself:

I wish I could go to a spa every week and let those wonderful women just strip away my stress, and if you can then wowza please can we swap! But I find that a nice hot shower (or a bath if you’re a bath person) can melt that grimy layer of arrrgggg right off. Pair that with a good shave to make me feel sexy and a nice facemask- I love the Freeman Purifying Avocado and oatmeal clay mask, and I feel like a new human.

  1. Unwind for the night:

Getting into a nice pair of cosy pyjamas and squeezing into some fluffy pink socks is like receiving a hug from an old friend. I like to snuggle on the couch and scroll through Pinterest with some tea and an overly indulgent chocolate something… it is still Sunday after all.

  1. Switch off:

About an hour or so before I go to bed I like to put my phone down and turn to my loved ones around me and chat to them for a little bit. It’s nice to take your mind off of yourself and the week that you face and rather listen to someone else’s thoughts and the week that they are facing. It reminds me that the world doesn’t revolve around me and that I may have something valuable or helpful to contribute to the people that I love.
